Giacomo

As mentioned in posts before, the model was based off a character designed by Borja Montoro. It was for a project called Giacomo's Secret developed by Sergio Pablo's studio, called Animagic Studio then. I really wished the show was released and that made me want to model the character.

I worked on it during Anim School's advanced modeling class taught by Krystof Fus.
He was really helpful in class and I wished the class was longer so that more could be done. Also thanks to Dave for general reviews.

The model was rendered using Arnold this time and immediately thought was that the learning curve was easier than Vray. The setup and number of passes within Arnold was surprisingly more straight forward and reduced. Probably the counter argument for Vray is that it offers more customization and control over one's scene. Thanks to Kustaa for suggestions and clarifying some of my queries regarding Arnold. I'm unable to give a good comparison between the 2 renderers since there weren't textures nor was the same file rendered in both renderers. Also Vray 3.0 has just been released which seems to have improved in render times.

This project has thoroughly been an enjoyable one. Though it looks simple, it was equally as challenging and fun one to model. There's always something new to learn in every project.
